I’ve gone to the websites for magazines like TeenMag, ElleGirl, and Seventeen (the sort of magazines I am interested in) and can’t find writers’ guidelines. Anybody have any advice for finding guidelines for those magazines and in general?
EDA: Like details on where to send story pitches. *sigh* I probably posted this in the wrong place.

~The Pandagal~ asked:

Since I’m very interested in writing and i think I pretty good at it (not trying to brag), I am looking for a few magazines that i can send submissions in for a chance of publication.

I write book reviews, short stories, and even some poetry.

It would also be preferred if it was a paying magazine but that isn’t the most important thing. Also, you can suggest a website as long as it is credible and pretty well known.

Thanks a lot guys!! :)

I’m only fifteen years old, and i’m fond of writing. I’m from the Philippines. I once emailed a publisher if he could publish my creation, but he insisted that i should begin by writing for a magazine and that sort of stuff, but the problem is, there are very few magazines, newspapers in Philippines that allow minors to write for them. Do you know any Philippine magazines or newspapers that i can apply a job for?

firesign asked:

I love writing but have been published once when I was in sixth grade. ( I’am now much older) I need to be able to make a little profit but I’am confused about who to write for. I’ve looked in several different magazines but the competition seems rough considering that I do not have any clips. I ‘am struggling with how to start and have overwhelmed myself with technical writing, copywriting, etc. Any help is much appreciated.

Such as Cosmo, GQ, Esquire, Glamour, Men’s Health, Vogue, Details, Vanity Fair, Jane, etc. Are they paid by word, if so what is the amount per word. Also is there a way to get in touch with these writers? Do they have a database of writers available anywhere?
